You’re not wrong. I actually made a comment a long time ago about this kind of thing… can I link it? It’s relevant!

I don’t know the best way to paste comments but hopefully that works.

My oldest is 10 and we’re just now starting to hear from him about the things his peers have/see/do. Up till now it’s been a non-issue. Also I don’t think most parents let their kids have free rein of the internet, especially not very little kids. Sure there are some, but I don’t think it’s the majority. A lot of parents now are millennials and we saw how fucked up Facebook made some of us and we hear all the time about how messed up teens are from social media so we’re pretty wary about what the internet is going to do to our kids.
Yes, I think you nailed it. After a whole lot of fairly un-nuanced character development for Osha and May, it was like they just switched brains in the last episode. What the heck? And there was definitely no payoff to any of the one/two stuff.
The lightsaber choreography was awesome. Otherwise I felt like the show was pretty meh. I feel like they were trying to show that Jedi and Sith aren’t just good and bad, and rather that they’re complicated and nuanced, but at the end I didn’t feel like that message landed at all, especially with the cameos you mentioned but even without them. The black and white costuming was really heavy handed, too.
Aaah yes, thank you, so much clearer! I appreciate that the Green Party is actually green, ha. Also I am gonna be tripped up by the red blue dichotomy if I understand Labour vs. Tories correctly since it’s kind of the opposite here in the states. We need some different colors over here too.
Sorry—I thought they were all separate parties? Like Why are the Green Party the same color as the Conservative Party? Or are those different colors actually? Ignorant American over here just trying to understand a bit better.
Do the colors mean anything?
That’s true. I respect his integrity, even if the industry doesn’t. It must be the most depressing thing to be a huge fan of something and then be part of it in the most disappointing way.
I’m not sure optimistic is the right word exactly… maybe hopeful. Sadly I don’t really think it’s gonna be great but I hope it is. 100% agree about Ridley. I know Boyega burned some bridges but I would otherwise put him in the same category.
If your normal breathing is really that audible, it might be worth checking with a doctor. You could have something going on, even as simple as a deviated septum or something like that.
It’s a much happier existence, not being picky. I’m with you.
Maybe they say 2-3 times a week when the reality is that they’re hedging based on reaction and they actually shower closer to once a week.
That said, I realized recently that I could smell someone else’s unwashed hair. I have no idea how recently they washed it, but now I’m semi-paranoid about how fast that happens. I shower (including hair washes) at minimum every other day, with an occasional weekend spent at home when I’m extra lazy and don’t shower all weekend. I sure hope my hair doesn’t smell like that on day 2.
Okay sure, I can see that. Maybe it’s a WTF face going on? Again, didn’t watch the clip so maybe it comes off differently in context.
I’m not caught up yet, haven’t seen season 4 so I’m not going to watch the trailer yet and can’t comment on it. However, I do think it’s…funny? That the thumbnail image for the trailer shows Burnham looking like she’s about to cry. The fact that she shows emotion doesn’t bother me but I know a lot of fans gripe about it so it strikes me as an odd choice to feature that.
Yeah, I feel like the stereotypical portrayal of marriage in the 50s through, say, the 80s was not particularly positive. Many people I know would rather be single than be in an awful marriage, myself included. I found a good one but if anything happened to him, at this point I doubt I’d even try dating at all.
Heck yes. I never want to use the internet anywhere but my house because my husband installed a Pihole and it’s the best thing evaaaar.
I’ll watch Hiddleston do anything, honestly.
Yeah, I really like live action but I think it has a better shot as animation. I don’t mind animation but I’m more drawn to live action. But it’s hard and costly to put a lot of fantasy to live-action screen.
I have a couple. I’d love to see Prydain done right but I don’t have much hope anymore.
Temeraire got optioned by Peter Jackson years and years ago. I remember thinking that Richard Armitage would be a perfect Lawrence, but it’s been too long; I think he’s probably too old now.
Bottom of my feet. I’m really klutzy and the slippery floor is already a bit of a hazard for me without adding soap to the mix.
Absolutely! It’s a little tough when the “being loud and obnoxious” takes the form of whining, though… I have a hard time with that. Because I remember what it’s like to be a kid and be bored in a world tailored by and for grown-ups. But I’m also willing to adjust my behavior and expectations, like taking kids to kid-friendly restaurants that provide crayons or whatnot. Some parents do seem to be selfish and expect kids to just deal with it if they take them somewhere less suitable.
