Yeah, after the update, it only answers if I unlock my phone. It’s not as convenient as it was before.

I noticed that Hey Google wasn’t working from the lock screen anymore. Pretty annoying.

I’m going to recommend getting an app called Feedly. You can setup what you want to see on the feed. Put only educational or scientific articles, or customize it with sources that meets your need.

Their while goal is to make the experience so terrible that you pay for YouTube Premium.

I left Reddit when they killed RIF. In Lemmy, I wanted something similar and tried Jerboa and Connect. Those apps didn’t really feel like RIF no matter how much I customized it. Sync really is the definitive replacement for the RIF experience. I gotten my version to look and feel like it exactly.
