If I can’t save for retirement, I might as well have a nice bike and a nice gaming PC.

Lots of people complain about Schildichat for various reasons, but Element for Android gets unbearably slow for me after less than a day of use. Clearing the cache resets the timer, but it just keeps happening. That doesn’t happen on Schildichat, and those two apps are the only ones I know of that support both spaces and threads, which I need.
I don’t see anywhere on their site if it can do threads as well as spaces. I need both, and I’d love to move away from Element/Schildichat.
It’s also missing CU Denver. 40 people were arrested yesterday.
If you haven’t found it yet, this site has a lot of great information you might want: https://indieweb.org/POSSE
EDIT: Not the CNBC article, but the source for the 44% number, I don’t know why I conflated the two in my head.
Sure. First, here is the non-paywalled version of the article: https://archive.is/dYiTl
Second, here is a succinct explanation of the problem with the 44% number they state: https://medium.com/@TheDebunker/the-article-is-a-disturbing-fraud-78faeebe2836
Just a heads-up: There is not an actual source that shows that private equity purchased 44% of single-family homes in 2023, let alone that Blackstone did. This all seems to be coming from this Medium article misunderstanding or misrepresenting the linked cnbc article (EDIT: and others) the source for the 44% number, which is not, in fact the cnbc article. That was my bad.
We have a better shot than lots of other states. Keep an eye out the next few years for information around AQCC Reg 7 and the Oil & Gas Emissions Intensity Rule.
yup. I’m working in Colorado on implementation of recent legislation to require oil and gas operators to submit a measurement-informed inventory of their emissions, instead of using assumed emissions values for their equipment.
I think the team were “contractors” so that google could do this and sidestep other employee protections.
I use protonmail + porkbun domain + postmark, and it works great.

My old account forwards to my new account. Current followers were automatically added to my new account.
That’s not entirely true. I migrated my mastodon account a new instance recently. I lost my posts, but everything else transferred or I was able to migrate manually.
I don’t understand “collecting”
Don’t get me wrong, there are a few categories of things I have a lot of, like film cameras, but that’s because I started with cheaper ones, and kept getting better ones as I became more sure that film photography was a thing I wanted to do.
But, for instance, I have friends who collect MLB bobbleheads just for the sake of collecting, and I’ll never understand that.
The Gagguino project is a counterpoint to this. They have some extremely limited documentation, but to really build one you probably are going to need to dig into Discord. I hate it. The project is really cool, though, and I’m building one right now.
As far as I can tell, it has full feature parity with Element.
I have tons of bugs and frustrations with Element, and none with Schildichat.
Once HedgeDoc 2.0 comes out with the “Explore” page, I’m pretty sure that will take over for Obsidian for me. I have played around with all the fancy features in Obsidian, I just don’t think I need the majority of them.
