Kotlin is the wave of the future. I still use Java, but I’m transitioning into using Kotlin for backend services. The devs are my work have been moving the app codebase to Kotlin for a couple of years (over a million lines) and it’s pretty nice. You reduce a lot of boilerplate and the code can be a bit more dense.

Mostly I’m just tired of smoothbrains complaining about the president when they are probably doing jack shit to change FPTP voting at their local, county and state levels. I know for some folks sarcasm doesn’t come across too clearly on the Internet.
That’s why I’m shifting to voting for Republicans. Only one way to accelerate the enshittification of politics and that’s by electing religious nutcases that will enforce their system on everyone.
I too welcome our next Republican overlord.

I’ve given up YouTube almost entirely for PeerTube at this point. If I wasn’t to watch a video, I use the *built in grabber and it grabs the video. Then, I can always refer back to PT instead of YT.
It was a hard sell in Oregon. I’m also a STAR proponent. The problem is the average voter is scared by conservative headlines and they already don’t like the idea of mail in voting. Changing the votting system even further would be some Communist conspiracy outside of the Metro area, with a non trivial number in the Metro area believing the same lies.
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
