I used to just hop on for a few minutes a day so my parents wouldn’t notice at first but my sessions got longer and longer until one day my dad caught the tones the modem was making and was like “Hey Aniki, what number did you just dial?” and I confessed. Dad was cool though - and said I could keep connecting for a few minutes a week to check stuff out but only in the evening when it was super cheap.
