Why would they do this? They’ve been pretty friendly to Russia previously
Yeah i wouldn’t trust their motivations, more likely they want to be able to pretend they are against the war while behind the scenes they aid russia.
Might be that they sense which way the wind is blowing. China helps Russia because it suits China’s interests to do so - the moment supporting Russia is less profitable than opposing it, China will swap positions. There’s no love lost between them.
