Bin mit Streaming sehr zufrieden, funktioniert aber nur mit ffmpeg-rpi, nicht mit dem normalen ffmpeg. mpv läuft nicht mit ffmpeg-rpi (das ist auf version 4.4, mpv braucht 6.irgendwas). vlc geht wohl, allerdings muss man beim installieren etwas jonglieren, weil vlc# ffmpeg-4.4 installieren will, was mit ffmpeg-rpi inkompatibel ist. DVD hab ich nicht zum Laufen gebracht, weil mein Laufwerk (ein Verbatim Ultra HD 4K External Slimline Blu-ray Writer) nicht gleichzeitig mit dem keyboard erkannt wird und ich bisher keine Lust aufbringen konnte, mich in die Untiefen des USB-Systems, udev & Co zu begeben.

Raspian OS ist ganz Ok, ich hatte allerdings den Eindruck, dass es beim Streamen mehr lagt. DVD hab ich damit nicht probiert.
