This gets my vote. Runs in my family and I’ve seen it first hand a ton of times by now. It is absolutely heart wrenchingly terrible. Not looking forward to that one bit.
I’m confused… who is taking issue? The only reply I see to the comment is yours and it has 6 upvotes and 0 downvotes. Are certain replies blocked by my instance maybe?
Behold and bask in the glory of working from home! Here, all your free time can actually be spent free! No more alt-tabbing to a random Excel spread sheet or dumbass email everytime the floor boards outside your crap ass cubicle squeak. No more desperately searching for mildly enjoyable activities that are only slightly conspicuous when viewed from over your shoulder. Revel in a world where if you bust ass and finish what you need to you are actually rewarded with the free time to cuddle your dog, take a nap, binge stardew valley, or just do absolutely nothing.
The fact that it is for this exact reason working from home is hated by old farts is so unbelievably frustrating it’s difficult to put in words. I know they like to word it differently like “lack of productivity” or “lowered team dynamic” (which have both since been repeatedly disproven by what little research we have) or some crap but we all know they just can’t stand not knowing exactly what we’re doing at all times. It honestly feels like they’re just irritated that workers are genuinely happy for once.
If it’s a skill/competitive game I totally get watching. Like if I like basketball I’m gonna watch Steph Curry or an NBA game cause I’ll learn how awesome people play the game. If I liked valorant or something i could totally see watching the top pros (or a really high level YouTuber) or comp matches from tourneys and stuff.
I feel like this is pretty much the path the large majority of YouTubers take. They gain a following. Stay consistent over the years. Slowly grow. And after a while people just watch because that’s what they’ve always done for years. The person could post a video of them just like peeling a potato and plenty people would still watch just cause.
This article is bogus. It doesn’t even mention the power or thoughts and prayers once!
Lol the top comment after this is “me first”
I’ve come up with the idea of an annual test of basic facts and current events (very basic). Once I get to the point where I can’t pass this test with flying colors, off me and launch my corpse into the ocean via trebuchet plz. Game over. Not interested in seeing where the rest of that ride goes. Seen it many times before with family members and I don’t like it.
One thing I don’t see mentioned here at all is the financial burden incurred by caring for a family member with serious problems like this. Obviously this is very dependent on the country in which you live but at least in the United States it is very possible to be buried in debt for caring for someone else. Personally, I will be trying to pay off medical bills from taking care of a family member in their final days probably for the rest of my life barring a miracle.
I’d rather not potentially saddle my children with the same if I can avoid it.
This is the main reason I have not had children. I am almost 100% guaranteed to get Alzheimer’s in the pretty near future. Having watched countless of my family members go through the absolutely heart wrenching process of Alzheimer’s progression, I can’t in good conscience have children (so far anyway, I’m not 100% on it) for two reasons:
I don’t want to put them through the grueling process of caring for, and dealing with someone dying from Alzheimer’s
While it’s not guaranteed obviously, I don’t want to doom a child to a very very good chance of getting Alzheimer’s at some point in their lives.
There is of course a chance for a treatment to be developed but they’ve been saying that for decades and haven’t really come up with much of anything so far.
Came here to say this. I don’t think it could get easier than pulled pork. And it’s insanely delicious.
Plus I have cats and no other humans here so it’s a quiet, comfortable, loving environment, and no job can provide that for me.
Looks like someone just needs some more team bonding activities and pizza parties with their team! Nothing builds a loving environment like a strong team!
I absolutely love it cause it’s such a fantastic break from the stress and frustration of working. Dog comes in and you just get to chill out and pet a dog for a bit while getting paid for it. But I could definitely see it being annoying if the dog was yapping all day or just being annoying. I haven’t had a bad experience tho.
I’ve been logged in on two different accounts for years and haven’t noticed anything. It uses microg to handle the login stuff and I haven’t heard of any issues like that happening with others either.
And then the inevitable day or week or so where it’s unseasonably cold before we barrel into another couple months of record breaking heat. But during those weeks I will be told innumerable times “so much for global warming! This idiots don’t know anything!”
I’m genuinely curious at this point if that point even exists. Like, I’ve had legitimate conversations with multiple people and i’ve asked them “what would need to happen for you to believe in human’s causing climate change?” The answer is generally something along the lines of “I’m not sure it’s even possible for humans to have that big of an effect on the earth.”
I would imagine there are tons of people out there who think the same, people with VERY deep pockets and in equally powerful positions that would never change course on their money making machines. Literally the only way I see substantial change happening is if it becomes incredibly profitable.
Lol I mean I guess of all the possible ghostly sounds one could hear, a child’s laughter is pretty good!
This is wild haha I wonder if it was just someone trying to piss off the studios by popping that in there for free or something? I guess that way it’s guaranteed to never have ads for anyone, ad blocker or not.
