Punch cards are the Chads!

Punch cards are the Chads!
(Are you old enough to get this joke?)
That’s probably fallout from the early days of this joke. After seeing this image with ‘the server crashed’, funny programmers would start saying their server “fell over” to reference that memory. Now it’s come full circle. Meanwhile those of us who are “grandma peering at the computer screen” would only say a computer has “crashed.” And wouldn’t know how to fix it beyond a couple of tries at turning it off and back on again. (Which usually does work, though!)
I’m influenced, but have a short attention span. So I might look in the fridge and see a condiment and make a whole meal around it, but then I’m done for awhile. Unless it’s something that expires, then bingeing is required to avoid waste.
Probably because it’s part of OP’s original question.
Since it’s a plant, my guess would be the expansion of the water becoming ice probably ruptures many of the cell walls. Even if the melting water stays where it was, the structure is broken. It had no room to stretch because it had already doubled when it absorbed the water in cooking.
I just want to say that must be really frustrating. Do you experience it when reading or only when writing? They’re different thought processes. Reading is just decoding but in writing you have to come up with the word to express the idea. Sounds like something is interrupting that process and making you doubt your choices. If it’s interfering with work it’s significant enough to talk to a doctor about.
Trump would cut all US humanitarian aid to Gaza and of course also throw Ukraine under the bus, while of course grifting and setting himself up as dictator for life, and continue finding new ways to be horrible that I had never imagined, just like before.
Images flash by and disappear. Sounds may resonate a little but are basically gone as soon as you stop making them.
Smells linger.
Imagine the cattleyard smell still hanging in the air when the scene has changed to milady’s boudoir, or to the fancy restaurant.
Oh, like Trump isn’t gleeful at the bombing of Gaza! Mr Muslim Ban, who built his real estate empire on deals with New York Jews and actively courts the Evangelical Right, who believe the rise of Israel is essential to God’s Plan.
(To be fair there’s a lot of New York Jews who are adamantly against what Israel is doing now, but they don’t vote for Trump either)
Frozen veggies have all the nutrients of fresh, and will still have them when you finally get around to cooking them.
Corollary: if you feel fine but appear to be shitting blood, consider whether you ate beets recently. (And same for your baby/small child)
Imagine showing up dressed for the wrong one!
Could be worse, at least there’s no grapefruit.
Or do this one first to max out your out-of-pocket with the one copay, everything else is “free” all year.
“” because you’re still paying premiums
Kids spend a huge amount of time at school. A good kid’s name needs to be yellable across the playground, (I knew a kid named Garfield, who went by Gar. Fine for conversation but you couldn’t call him without sounding idiotic.) singable for Happy Birthday, (my own is awkwardly long and off-meter) and not an obvious rhyme for any embarrassing body parts or functions. (Mulva?) It helps if it is spelled in a way that supports correct pronunciation, or at least doesn’t suggest an awkward mispronunciation. Kamylia (pronounced like camellia) works, Cameltoe doesn’t. A foreign language name, like an heirloom, should have a provenance or family story. Not just random appropriation. “I named my kid Shanghai because he’s how his mom Shanghaied me into marriage.” Terrible, but at least it’s better than nothing.
Good on you for not already knowing the answer, because you always get up!
I don’t sleep through alarms but I have showered through a few, they turned off after 10 minutes or so.
Book/s to read to the kids?
The pointed gun and Rust is giving me Alec Baldwin vibes, especially in the context of Netflix. Then I realized what instance I had landed in from All.
