Ever since LemmyWorld went down in the hacking, I haven’t been able to log in using the account I created there. I do the login thing, and the little pop-up says “Logged In” but I’m not. I can’t see my Subscribed feed, I can’t comment or post. And I couldn’t ask this question! I also couldn’t start fresh because I only have one email, and it knew that. So I came over to shitjustworks which graciously allowed me to create this profile without an email address. I guess it’s okay, I can work on resubscribing to stuff under this name, neither one is my old Reddit name anyway, but I would prefer going back to my other account or at least knowing what happened…? In case it happens again?

The login issues seems to have been fixed with the recent update.

Have your tried clearing your cookies/cache for your browser and logging in? For your mobile app, remove your account from the app or clear the cache in the app settings.
Delete your account and add it back if you’re on Memmy
I recall having the same issue on the mobile apps. What worked for me was logging into the webpage whether desktop or mobile, and changing my password. Then signing out and relogging where I had difficulty!
I had a bunch of trouble logging into lemmy.world yesterday. The issue cleared up for me today, however.

It’s a platform and instance that was created and is maintained by volunteers. It’s also very new, recently saw a huge increase in users and is now targeted by bad actors.
You’re not forced to pay for it, you’re not served advertising, you don’t get a worse experience if you don’t donate.
You need to have reasonable expectations, especially when most of these issues can be fixed by clearing your browser’s cache and trying again. It’s crazy any of this shit works well enough in the first place.

My thoughts exactly… I’m still amazed it actually works, lol.
