The GCC is Arab countries and Turkey is not an Arab country. And the GCC are dictators not theocracies.

It could have been an hour, it was first mentioned in the earliest comics that the webbing fades away, and I’m not sure what they said more recently.
Foreign countries are legally banned from donating to US politicians and any foreign lobbyists have to be registered. AIPAC has skirted around those laws and even been caught in some scandals over it (e.g. Larry Franklin passing classified documents to the Israeli ambassador) but has made powerful friends and avoided law enforcement.
According to the comics, webbing dissolves and fades away after a day.
Israel has spent decades building a powerful lobbying bloc in Washington. American-Israel PAC is one of the top 3 donors of Congress competing with NRA. They made ties with evangelicals and give free vacations to Israel for every politician. They establish ties with both major political parties and spend millions to defeat any congressman who criticizes Israel.
Genocide is not just extinction but an attempt to destroy or erase a nation. Likud’s charter calls for the elimination of a Palestinian state and its leaders have talked openly about using the military to drive all Palestinians into Egypt and Jordan and eliminate the idea of a Palestine. That IS genocide.
Making Gazans homeless stops terrorism how?
Ok they had their fun. Can they rejoin?
I don’t agree, but I understand.
No. They pulled out their illegal settlements but then blockaded the land and even blocked the importation of Covid vaccines (until international pressure made them relent). The government is even openly talking about putting new settlements back.
Israel has also committed aggression against most of its neighbors and tried to claim their lands as well.
We can do MUCH more than that. Currently Biden is giving $8 Billion a year to Israel and is Congress for an additional $14 Billion, and is vetoing UN Security Council resolutions that criticize Israel and quietly blocking their investigations into war crimes. Biden could add conditions to the aid (he already blocked shipments of rifles because they were going to arm settlers who were committing attacks on unarmed Palestinians), he could block the additional aid or heavy weapons shipments or he could abstain and let the UN Security Council actually order Israel to stop violating the Geneva Conventions.
Israel is arrogant enough to think they can fight multiple wars at the same time. Biden and others have made the best effort to warn them against it, but if Netanyahu wants to risk the entire country just to grab more land then what can we do to stop him?
Frankly maybe the US should stop protecting Israel and let them do whatever they want. Clearly they don’t appreciate Biden trying to save them from themselves, and opening a second front of the war is what they want even though it will badly harm Israel. Attacking more Arab countries will drag the rest of the region into the fight and Israel will have nobody to blame but themselves.
Prior to the October 7 attack, the Pope publicly raised the issue of Jewish settlers attacking Palestinian churches. Far right extremist Itamar Ben Ghavir, the cabinet minister tasked with domestic policing, refused to condemn the attacks and said this was justifiable given how anti-Semitic churches are.
Somehow the Christian Right in America doesn’t care about Christian’s dying as long as they’re Arab.
What a stupid comment by Blinken.
If there was no Hamas, Israeli settlers would still be committing terrorist acts on unarmed Palestinians in West Bank and right wing politicians would still be threatening to tear down Al Aqsa. If Hamas vanished tomorrow, none of that would change. Netanyahu would still refuse to recognize a two state solution and would refuse to negotiate with Abbas or the PA. Gazans would be in an open air prison.
The Israeli military shot unarmed Palestinian protestors and the US State Department did nothing. Palestinians asked the international community for help to end their oppression and the Israeli government called it “diplomatic terrorism” and sanctioned Palestinians further. Boycotting Israel is illegal in US law. Why should anyone listen to the US State Department’s recommendations when they don’t even follow through?
No they don’t. They once had it in their charter in the 80s but updated it; and have called for a two state solution for nearly 20 years now. They even took the step of recognizing Israel, only for Netanyahu to move the goalposts. Meanwhile Netanyahu and the Likud party have genocide as their openly, publicly stated goal of destroying the nation of Palestine.
This just feels so counter to Trek ideals.
