Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Always reactive, never proactive. That’s humans for you!
What a cool experience and sounds like fun times were had! I had such a huge crush on DiCaprio when I saw Romeo+Juliet eons ago so it’s interesting to hear he’s a douche.
Does Lemmy have an AMA? You should do an AMA.
My husband used to love Sweet Baby Ray’s but now he says he prefers City Barbecue Original. Just throwing it out there in case you wanted to try it.
I’m the opposite of you. I have several different sauces because I buy them “just in case” or because it sounds tasty and I’ve never tried it. They line a shelf and a tray in my fridge and a shelf in my cupboard. Sometimes I use them and it’s awesome, sometimes I’ll even use up a bottle, but most of the time they end up expiring and I throw them out.
Hot sauce is the exception. We always use up our hot sauces. In fact, I feel obligated to recommend a kickass hot sauce I just recently discovered:
Gindo’s Truffle Parmesan hot sauce
Go get yourself a bottle. Best hot sauce I’ve ever had. Not that I’m a connoisseur or anything but I can’t imagine a flavor to top this one.
I started collecting shot glasses when I was in my 20s. Somewhere in my 30s, I stopped. Now I collect shirts from 5k runs that I participated in.
A stiffy, you might say.
Can confirm. Had my mammogram last month and they recommended an ultrasound because my breast tissue is dense. I’ve had it once before with no problems, but my husband’s company switched insurance providers and it kicked in January 1, so now the lab where I normally go isn’t in-network and every lab that is in their network wants to charge me hundreds of dollars. This is with good insurance. (My husband always picks the most expensive insurance package because we’re getting older.)
Money is a little tight right now because I’m in between jobs, so at this point I’ve given up. I’ll look into it again when I’m employed again but it’s just not affordable at the moment.
I admire the workaround.
Some 20 years ago, the right shift key on my keyboard was busted. I ignored it for so long that I got used to only using the left shift key. To this day, and many keyboards later, that’s still how I type.
So funny how some people still don’t know how to use the seashells.
I can hear this in Antonio Banderas’ voice and accent, and it’s perfect.
I completely agree. As my husband and I get older and think about where to retire, one of the criteria we consider is whether or not the place has “death with dignity” laws. Some states already have it but they’re a small minority.
I’ve had to say goodbye to 2 beloved senior pets and this is what my vet suggested to me. He said list the 5 things that your pet loves to do the most, those activities that bring him the most joy. When he can no longer do 3 of the 5 things, then maybe start thinking about letting go.
I wish you and your pet all the best as you face these tough choices.
Maybe they’ve got really big feet. And you know what they say about really big feet…
One-time payments. Those were the days.
There’s this game called Futoshiki that I paid for once and I played every night before bed. I would play it with a dim screen until I fell asleep. Worked fine for probably close to a decade but recently started showing ads again. The email address for the developer is no longer valid. All other games like it that I found were subscription-based.
Not open source, but my husband and I have been using the premium version of Our Groceries for several years.

Photos won’t convince people like that because they’ll just think it’s all fake. I suspect even if we all pitched in to buy them a trip into space, they still would think it was all fake – screens instead of windows, like an amusement park virtual reality ride.
