I would take diagnosis around Neurodiversity with a grain of salt. I suspect both conditions might be the same brain differences presenting differently, and I don’t think science has really gotten to the ground of this yet.

What do we really know about animal and plant communication? They might very well be talking to each other. Don’t be too quick to assume that as a human you would even know how other consciousnesses, let alone ways of communication, could work.

People who work closely with animals seem to lose their ‘human smart, monke stupid’ attitude relatively quickly, and those who study non-human consciousness deeply seem to make one groundbreaking discovery after the other these days.

We have to stop gatekeeping knowledge and start listening.

That would lead into philosophical discussions as to what knowledge means. I do see that we have the tendency of assuming others have less agency or are less aware of their actions than us. We do that as individuals and as a species, so I tend to be careful. I also wish I had useful food cravings, mine don’t tend to be too healthy.

Goats know. Sheep know. Equines know. If I make sure the farm animals have access to different flora around the pastures they won’t get ill. It’s nice following the animals around and finding out what they eat, and other ways they use plants. The more time I spend with animals the more I think it’s us humans being the dumb ones.

On that note, watching what great apes do in their natural habitat might teach us a few things about plants.

I know nothing about how an international union could work - need some smart people to help.

I have been thinking about the possibility of an international screen workers’ union. My own job is in translating, but there’s millions of people doing data entry, AI-related stuff, graphic design, devloping etc. on a kind of semi-freelancing basis, often via job platforms that keep part of our earnings. I’ve often thought a union to bring all this workforce together would be great.

I had this procedure done as a child. Very simple, zero problems. I never even remembered it before your post.

That would be the exact opposite from what OP describes, where a person goes “Oh woe me, all the weight of the world is on my shoulders and I get zero acknowledgment!”

True. At same time, permitting angry music subcultures keeps the angry masses docile enough to not completely lose their shit. Engaging in angry music is a bit the same like writing angry political comments online - it feels engaged but changes little.

About pop music, I do respect that some people enjoy catchy tunes, easy melodies, dance-able rhythm as a kind of escapism. Listening to political comment can be exhausting, and music is, among other roles it can play, meant to be enjoyed.

That said, give me punk rock before pop anytime. Most shallow music these days makes my brain melt with the use of autotune alone before I even try to make out the lyrics.

I’m autistic and animistic. I believe that there’s conscience in all, and that we should handle other beings like we handle other persons: with respect and some caution. I grew up catholic, tended towards buddhism for a while, was non-religious for the longest time, and then started taking to animals and plants and landscape - some might say I lost my mind, but it felt more like finding it. It’s a private practice of consciously having a stream of thought passing my mind as I meet other beings in my daily life, and trying to get to know them and notice them. A silent conversation with the non-human, I guess you could call it praying, only there’s no worship, as I’m also anarchist. I communicate with whoever is happy to meet me eye to eye.

I’d say the whole thing is more pragmatic than religious. There’s no church, no celebrations, I’m not part of a group, I’m just a private nutter talking to rocks because it suits me and works to maintain my wellbeing.

I had no clue this thing existed till I met it - I did think it was a lemur at first but then I looked it up. They probably arrived in the Iberian peninsula as pets so it’s not too surprising that they approach people.

I keep confusing it with pareidolia - seeing faces everywhere.
