I was looking for a USA community to just say Happy Fourth of July to my countryfolk without bothering others.
Does such a community exist without being an asshole farm? c/justusathings or something? I’m very new here
Even on reddit, r/usa was tiny. We kinda just exist everywhere and wrongfully assume everyone is us, so we don’t tend to feel the need for a special community. Lol

Yeah I just assume someone’s American unless I’m in a specific sub
Yup, that tracks, haha.
For what it’s worth I hear mainland Chinese are the same way.
I feel like there’s some commonalities between Americans, Chinese people, and Russians, particularly nationalistic ones, as people from countries that seek to lead the world. Particularly, the belief their way of life is inherently superior and should be exported everywhere and the inflated sense of importance of their countries.
I don’t think it’s that sinister, even. They’re all massive and insular; an American doesn’t ever have to think about the outside world if they don’t want. At the other end, Serbians are often quite nationalistic but will always be aware that not everybody is Serbian, and will probably be able to point out continents and oceans on a world map.

Hello fellow USA person!
Hey there!
As leftists we must hate the USA. Just don’t hate it so much you loop around and start loving other imperialist powers for not being the USA.
