    i think we’re just on the wrong page tonight. i feel like i had too much to drink and now i’m picking a fight with a friend’s friend. can we pick this up another time? i’m not a bad person, and i don’t think you’re one, either.

              I was in a relationship with one for nine years. It’s hard to watch someone self-destruct because they feel so hopeless.

              He’s been sober now for two years, and he finally seems happy. He got back into making art and his old hobbies.

                  You confessed to drinking too much.

                  It was not a weekend night, anywhere in the world.

                  Binge drinking is unsafe by itself, all alcohol is carcinogenic.

                  I don’t personally think they had to peep your history, to realize it’s an issue.

                  And yes, hope is what you really need right now. You can get sober and you can be happy again, you just have to connect with a support group that understands what you are going through.

                  My ex rejected AA for the longest time because we are both atheists, but he found the comraderie and support there he needed to finally sober up.

                    i miss short-term memory.

                    i’m addressing it (again). been to a billion aa’s, been through a month of rehab detox. the people from concurrent disorders said there’s nothing more they can do, and i swear that zoom groups are specifically designed to make you want to drink even more.

                    all that said - and yes it’s a problem - but i’m kind of afraid of what i’d become if i quit drinking. it keeps me stuck to my chair. with all that i know and the way the world is going, i’d probably end up bombing a taco bell.
